Known also as “the caviar of coffee”, Blue Mountain is one of the most appreciated qualities in the world. It grows in the Blue Mountains on the eastern part of the island, whose peaks, some exceeding 2,200 metres in height, are bathed by warm, humid winds.
The Arabica coffee, imported from Martinique in the 18th century, is grown on the highest mountainsides. Neatly arranged on terraces cultivated with fertile soil, it is irrigated by pure water streams and shaded by avocado and banana trees.
